Alize sofa
Kettal presents Alize by Vincent Van Duysen. A modular outdoor collection inspired by coastal modernity Kettal introduces Alize, a new outdoor furniture collection designed by Vincent Van Duysen, launching during Salone del Mobile 2026 in Milan.
The collection explores the balance between architectural clarity and relaxed outdoor living, translating Vincent Van Duysen’s refined design language into a system conceived for contemporary outdoor spaces.
The starting point for the project was a reflection on the Malibu series designed by Frédéric Méchiche for Hugonet, admired for its effortless character and strong association with coastal living. Rather than reinterpret it directly, Van Duysen approached it as an attitude — one defined by simplicity, lightness and an optimistic way of inhabiting outdoor environments.
At the centre of the collection is a continuous tubular frame, whose rounded line appears almost drawn in a single gesture. The structure remains fully visible and defines the silhouette of each piece with precision, creating a light yet confident architectural presence.
Softness is introduced through deep cushions and tactile upholstery, bringing comfort and warmth to the clarity of the structure. This dialogue between line and volume, structure and softness defines the character of the collection.
Designed as a modular system, Alize adapts to the fluid nature of outdoor living. Elements connect seamlessly to create extended compositions across terraces and patios, or more intimate seating arrangements. The repetition of the tubular line creates a visual continuity that runs through the entire system.
Presented during Milan Design Week 2026 at the Kettal Milan showroom, Alize continues the collaboration between Kettal and Vincent Van Duysen, exploring a contemporary vision of outdoor living shaped by light, warmth and architectural simplicity.
