The new outdoor family designed by Patricia Urquiola for Kettal is based on the concept of clothing, on dressing and undressing furniture. Adopting a tailoring approach, Patricia Urquiola designs the new family with a reference to the characteristic Brazilian spirit, which lives in abundant, roomy, comfortable furnishings, somehow evocative of distant landscapes and cultures. For Plumon, Urquiola designs a light structure, on which a tailored and padded dress is ‘moored’, wrapped.

Patricia Urquiola

Spanish architect based in Milan, she stands out for the original designs of objects and furniture that she produces for the best and most important international firms. The designer of some of the most emblematic pieces in the current range, she created the Maia collection, one of her most characteristic works, for Kettal. AD Architecture Design Award 2008.

The piece I identify with most is the Relax armchair. I like finding the most suitable material for each project. Working on technologically developed materials using craft techniques, or using an industrial process on a material from the past.”
