Wall System

Wall System is the oldest of Poliform's living room systems and still the most adaptable. It is built around the bookcase as the focal point of a room, both to look at and to use.

A load-bearing frame, lightened by a slender grid, carries a combination of shelves, doors, display cases and back panels. Hinged and drop-leaf doors turn a section into a bar or a home office corner. Display cases hold ceramics, glass and works on paper. Drawers, television shelves and integrated lighting sit within the same grid, so everything the room needs is held in one piece of architecture rather than several.

The system is entirely freestanding, which means it adapts to the walls of a room rather than requiring work to them.

Materials and finishes

Structures, shelves and backs in veneered or lacquered panel, aluminium-clad shelves, glass, and back panels or tops in marble. Lacquers come in more than thirty matt and gloss colours, and there are metallic lacquers alongside them. Wood veneers run to Spessart oak, gold oak, walnut, black elm and lite oak. Panels can also be covered in fabric, linen or mesh.
